FSHISD Staff & School Board Invited to Judge Entries on Monday, May 15
Cole students and staff are currently giving withdrawn books new life by transforming them into Book Art. The contest ends Thursday, April 27, at 4pm. Due to testing, we must wait until May 15 for the official judging.
All FSHISD Staff and School Board Members are invited to participate in judging Books Transformed into Art, any time between 7:45am and 4:00pm on May 15. The judging typically takes 15-30 minutes. Please add this to your calendar if you have time available.
When is the contest? April 5-27, 2017
Who can participate? Cole Students & Staff
What can I make? Any creative item incorporating part, or all, of a book—the only limit is your imagination! It should be small enough to bring into the Media Center and place on display. There are many options—pictures, sketches, paintings, collages, sculptures, jewelry, planters, and more. For examples look around the Media Center, view the slide shows (below), or view Ms. Hoecker's Pinterest Boards.
Where do I get books to use? Ask Ms. Hoecker, Mrs. Oroszi, or Mrs. DeLeon--we have books set aside.
If a book isn’t your personal property, ask for permission before you transform it into art.
How do I enter the contest? Bring your Book Art to the Media Center and complete the short entry form. Submit your entry no later than 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 27. You may work individually or with one partner. You may submit no more than 2 separate entries in the contest.
What might I win? Gift Cards and items from the Media Center prize collection which includes books, posters, book bags, mugs, lanyards, and more!
